Larry David
Resident Community Ambassador
Knollwood Place Apartments
When Larry David looked to move a few years ago, he remembered that his mother had lived at Sholom in the 1990s. Larry has fond memories of playing piano concerts at Sholom and giving his mother something to kvell about.
“When I was considering where to move, my son told me ‘You deserve to be in a place where you're secure, happy, and appreciated for who you are,’ and so I made the move to Knollwood Place Apartments,” Larry shared.
A life-long learner, musician, and former keyboardist of the Milwaukee Symphony, Larry still spends hours practicing piano, composing, and sharing his talents with residents at Sholom.
“I'm just semi-retired and doing my own thing to provide a little music,” he said. “I love that I’m able to give something back and play for the residents here.”
He has recently become a social ambassador, helping residents feel at home on campus through his musical offerings. “I'd like people to know it's a welcoming community, and that nice things happen here,” he said. “I do feel truly, maybe for the first time in my life, a part of a real community.”
